The Area Leasing Consultant works under the supervision of the Area Leader and the guidance of various Community Leaders. The primary duty of the Area Leasing Consultant is to rent apartment units to prospective residents. The Area Leasing Consultant may also fill other roles as a result of experience in leasing or in the multi housing industry. Associates in this position will perform all normal leasing activities but will work at different properties as assigned, usually within the home area. Communities assigned will commonly be those that are short staffed and/or require additional marketing assistance due to low occupancy, poor property performance, or newly hired team members. MAA provides all newly hired Area Leasing Consultants with training at the corporate offices to ensure every opportunity for success. All MAA associates must successfully clear a background investigation to include but may not be limited to: criminal background check, pre-emplyoment drug screening and an employment verification process.
