Job Description
The Medical Assistant II is a key member of the Physician Practice and provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
Take patient histories and vital signs.
Provide basic clinical care to patients, including performing clinical evaluations and procedures for urgent care, occupational health and worker’s compensation.
Assists in preparing patient for minor surgeries and physicals.
Gives injections and assists with lab testing and Phlebotomy.
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
Provide timely lab and x-ray results by making follow-up calls to laboratory.
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and practice established clinical and regulatory procedures including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
Ensure that equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions.
Follow documentation procedures and complete required paperwork related to patient care.
Adhere to infection control & safety guidelines and patient confidentiality policies.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of One (1) year of experience in a physician practice or clinic setting is preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
Must be certified to perform x-rays as required by state law.
DOT and BAT certified.
